The subconscious mind, which holds all of the deeper emotions, past traumas, as well as the roots of happiness, holds it all. This part of the mind is always speaking to the conscious mind, but we do not always notice. Anything that is not appropriate or in our best interest is dissolved in the light of consciousness, the observer.
This is why it is important to take on the role of observer. When we do this, we easily see what is happening in there. This is the go within part. The problem is most do not want to go within. Most do not want to know what is happening in the subconscious mind because it is not always pleasant.
Running from the subconscious mind is evidenced in the music playing constantly; in the mall, at the office, the dentist, air pods worn nonstop. It's worse than that. Videos on the gas pump while pumping gas. Silences are uncomfortable for people. Why? The subconscious mind. It is always speaking yet hardly anyone wants to listen; incessant movie watching, phone checking, videos, gaming. One of the hardest things for people to do is sit in silence.
This is where meditation comes in. In mediation, we can listen to the subconscious mind. As we do this in meditation it then becomes a habit in life and all of our activities become a meditation. This is because once you start to listen to the subconscious mind, you can hear it all day long. This is what people have been avoiding. Listening to it. People hate it, it can be a tormenter. It is a tormenter if you are involved in it. However, when you listen to the subconscious mind from the point of view of observer, all of the torment begins to diminish. It starts to clear out. For some there is a lot of shit in there, but it does start to clear out.
The great thing about observing the subconscious mind is that as long as you maintain the observer point of view, things start to clear out fast. A deeply troubled person could find relief quite quickly because there is a lot happening in there. Once you have done this for a while, the noticings get more and more subtle but they are there.
The process is simple. Being the observer is the challenge. All you need to do it sit and listen. Listen to what the subconscious mind is saying, and you will see what has been running your life.
